DESPERANTO is an exhibition in public space.
It is a new chapter in the experience conducted with the exhibition QUANTUM CODE in 2020, which proposed an immersion in a suspended form of
time and space, carried by works evoking different perceptions of time, cycles or history.
DESPERANTO questions our abilities to project ourselves as a social group, to fantasize and build scenarios combining personal visions and
collective mythologies.
Imagined on the entire facade of the building of the POLA factory and its surroundings, this open-air program revolves around works specially
Produced for its environment. The exhibition deploys a dimension that is deliberately open to public space, marking a commitment to forms of direct apprehension of works, functioning as apparitions.
The title of this opus, DESPERANTO comes from a semantic approximation between the powerful notion of melancholy, despair and Esperanto, a language born in the rise of the industrial age, conveying the hope of humanist universalism.
This new language draws the map of a cultural territory devoid of the limits of civilizations. DESPERANTO proposes to explore the fuzzy geographies of this space.
The exhibition explores the ways in which our rule is exercised over the planet's circumscribed territory, exposes the perspectives of a redesigned world, and we
project into an anticipatory story that the circumstances of our time have transformed into a principle of reality.
DESPERANTO Look into the distance, towards a horizon of rays, shadows and promises, shake up founding myths, engage in a stress-test for the next world.
